Internet Explorer 9

Microsoft has recently launched the latest version of their dog race in web browsers’ market. It is Internet Explorer 9.0. This version was meant to unbalance the status current status quo of the web browsers’ market.

The fact is – Internet Explorer holds about 10% of user base, with Chrome holding 40% for example, thus you can’t expect a ride in a spaceship after switching from Chrome or maybe Mozilla. However, this browser has its pros and cons just like any other. While previous versions were slow, fragile and of poor security – Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9 have things to offer.
Let’s open up the box with YouTube 1080p videos. Internet Explorer, versions 8 and 9 particularly, are lighter comparing to Chrome and Mozilla thus they can play these videos way faster. Lighter means using less PC usage and video streaming
and watching takes up to 10% less usage than at Chrome and Mozilla. This is a big advantage in favor of IE.
The latest version, IE9, has made a large step forward comparing to previous versions but the time this browser spent standing still, while the others advanced, is hard to catch up within a release or two. IE9 falls behind the other browsers
regarding HTML5 support and it can’t be installed on Windows XP. We are yet to see if this means Windows turning their head from XP or just a desperate try to make a fast browser. Either way, fact it can’t be ran on Windows XP is not so favored among users.

Internet Explorer has fine website navigation. It supports current and incoming web standards providing slight website navigation. As it was sitting duck for hackers and intruders for years, due to absence of considerable updates or maybe even more often release, security still remains the biggest problem of Internet Explorer. If you look for safe web browsing we recommend you to look for Chrome or Mozilla.

Summary

Internet Explorer 9 and 8 are fine browsers with more goodies than baddies. They would be top notch browsers if they were released couple of years ago, but we are all aware how much ‘couple of years’ mean in terms of software  development. Chrome and Mozilla maintain the distance gained over past years and they are not so likely to let it down to couple of Explorer’s releases within relatively short period. If IE continues the way it goes now, there will be huge battle to see over the browsers market, but right now – Chrome and Mozilla are recommended over Internet Explorer.
