Once you have downloaded your Google Earth – launch it. Make sure you have above average connection speed or this software might easily come useless due to the large amount of data it constantly exchanges with servers and can make the software performance uselessly slow. You can manually search for the places of interest or you can use in-built search engine which is easy to use.

Google Earth has quiet complicated user interface due to the large amount of features. It takes some time to get used to it and you might find yourself getting lost in the sea of various options and settings before you master it. You will find the search engine on your left-hand side along with layers and places. The more you specify particular place the better. If you would like to see Paris, typing in ‘Paris’ alone is less effective than typing in ‘Paris, France’ which turns out to be much better input.

As much as Google promotes Google Earth as software capable to show you any place on planet – this is naturally, not true. There are and always will be places you will not be able to scan-through starting from areas of military interest to the satellite dead-angle areas. While resolution at some places is 100%, meaning the best possible, resolution at the other spots is poor and you will barely see unclear contours.

Google Earth is freeware software and as such is incredibly precious for personal and business use. Good thing about Google Earth is each day growing community whose members are constantly improving database adding free content into the database on regular basis. Images are mostly viewed in a high-detail resolution and large town citizens will most likely be capable to spot their own residence. Another great thing about Google Earth is the fact it is constantly upgraded and updated via Internet.

What most people think about Google Earth is it provides the real-time satellite picture which is terribly false. If everybody viewed real-time satellite at the same time server would crash in matter of minutes. You are required a high speed connection even to view Google Earth as it currently is, otherwise you will not get much of it.

Google Earth, despite the few negatives, is robust and extremely useful software. It can come useful not only for personal, but for business use as well. It is free to download and it relies on robust data base which is being updated constantly.
